Hi All,

New to the trade - passed all my C&G quals including 2391, but as I'm still not working in the trade day to day (I still have a day job) I find that determining the sizes of cables including meter tails is not always easy.

Do you guys have any tips for this ?

Cheers
Steve

i find that the nice off cut of T&E 10mm is easy to identify as a supply conductor!! even more so when its been melted away!

yes off cuts is good..!!

if you are working day to day installing, then all cables have the size written on the side of them. they have it written in different formats ie 3G1.5 means 3core 1.5
ive recently used single core 150 earth and it was written as Z 150 orthers have it wriiten as the no of cores * the size, ie 3 * 2.5

if you will be working on old stuff, then offcuts are the way to go!
