cable entry for slate roof

hi all

just placed order for enphase micro inverters with solar flash kit to install rail on roof.
looking at either bringing trunk cable through to loft or as was told bring ac cable out & use
waterproof box to join to trunk cable & ac cable. if bringing ac cable out would it fit through side of
solar flash installing in 20mm conduit, or take trunk cable in through??
other option install klobber slate unit & make it accept either ac / trunk cable?
any help would be apperciated.

Put connection inside roof as all ac connections should be maintainable and accessible , on the roof this will struggle to be the case.

will be now bought extra trunk cable to get into loft, am looking at using small klobber vent outlet
to get trunk cable into loft space only need two units then i will seal them up on the inside after
stop any drafts.

Some flexy conduit with a tile taken out with lead flashing is just as affective to be fair or a vent tile with a grill in

on slate roof, we just drill out something like a 25mm diamter hole (pilot hole first please), then use strips of sticky backed ali flashing around the edges of the hole to protect the cable, then flash over the top from below the slate above, and cable tie the cables to the rail.

needs to be good quality ali flash band though.

just bought two small klober vents for slate these have nice easy way to get in to build &
also go through tievec ok so MCS should be happy happy happy, we shall see.
they cost only £12.00 each
