Cable fixing issues

Hey all, I've got a run of quite small 6mm swa cable to run probably along a block wall, but things is the wall has got a number of differing levels on it's face such as 2 inches sticking out then maybe 4 inches next metre along for about a foot. Almost like someone built strength pillars into the wall. Anybody had a pain like this before as I'm thinking cleats as fixing probably won't work now unless the client wants an armoured caterpillar humping across the wall !

Maybe fix a cable tray along the length fixing it to the pillars and then you have a flat surface to clip the cable to

Hey Gaz, was thinking along those lines or unistrut but its a garden area on a new build ! side pathway, cream wall 1.5 mts high, not sure if they would go for tray etc.. not many options really otherwise. Thanks.

Find out exactly what they are and drill through. They maybe steel girders though, depending on the building.

ask the client, burying might be better. you could always use conduit? gland in one end from swa

Fill the gaps between pillars with suitably deep, pressure treated wooden battens. It can then all be painted to match afterwards, and won't stick like a sore thumb like chunks of metalwork would.

you could always use white powdercoated cable tray if you want it to blend in

Of course if the customer has more money than sense then you could make a very neat job with a bit of micc.
