Cable glands course

I need to learn Cable Glands technical course before I will be answer the questions to customers at Electrical Wholesalers. Is there a short course in cable glands or engineering at university in London? Distance learning? or Weekend course?

What sort of questions are you being asked? Surely a read through of the manufacturer's product spec sheets would provide you with enough knowledge. I'm not aware of any course on glands.

Go on U Tube and watch the various video demonstrations on fitting glands to the respective cables....

Amec in aberdeen make you do a gland course before they allow you on the Rigs, As far as I know it's only for employees

Although with the way things are heading, if course providers get wind of this thread it won't be long before there is another course made up with an official C&G badge stuck on it for Cable Glands.

Well i can see the sense in that, they're doing it for themselves to make sure your up to scratch with things.

That's like an electrical contracting company wanting to see some evidence of your work before they employ you, companys (especially the rigs) don't want to be employing a bad-apple.

As for a official course on cable glanding - it's just nonsense, you learn this during your time.
