Hi,

seen some recent posts about cable labelling, i currently use number and letter ferrule type labels, but they always fall off, just wondered what you guys used to keep them on?

Was thinking of crimping a pre insulated bootlace ferrule on the cables, waht do you think?

Thanks

Craig

that will work, as will normal spade, fork or ring crimps. have you used silver foxes? if you get the right size, they dont fall off, but you have to print the ferrules for them

there are various types of ferruls which fit over the cables best Iv seen is a clear sleeve on a roll with a smaller pare to put numbers, names, ect in either preprinted or made on lables Legrand system is good as the leters and numbers are different colours easier to read than small numbers

I know this is loosely connected but I didn't want to start a new thread....
I have seen a 10mm BLACK single cable clipped with black clips run on the outside of an old building, its total run was about 10-12 metres at the MET and gas meter the cable had green and yellow heat shrink. I have looked through the regs book and 514.3.2 is the nearest I can see that might allow/disallow this practice. It does mention in the reg that "preferably" along it's length... I thought I'd ask your opinions on it; as I thought it looked a lot better than green/yellow would clipped there.
