Mostly use yellow 77 now but I was shown wd40 on singles during a refurb a few years ago. I must admit, it was wicked and how those cables flew into that conduit! However, I have only had frowns from everybody I have discussed this with since. My thinking on it is, what is the cable insulation under the bonnet of your car? PVC right? and what do you use to keep the moisture out in the winter? WD40 right?

So why can't a little spray help the cables along the way?

Your thoughts please.

WD40 is flammable, with a flashpoint of around 110 deg F I believe. Under the bonnet of a car isn't an enclosed space. Inside conduit it could be (particullarly if it's a long run), I'll leave you to draw your own conclusion on what temps might be reached inside the conduit and the consequences ;)

Any of you guys ever used Hellerine oil? Many years ago i used to use it for applying tags and labels to cabling but im not sure if it's any good for feeding cables through trinking etc...

It should give fairly accurate results. Bear in mind your car will probably have a smart charging system, so worth having a read up on those.
