Judging cable size has always been a bit of a problem for me. I end up carrying around small pieces of various size cables for direct comparison to determine what size is installed - and doing this in front of customers can be quite embarrassing! I noticed on another thread someone mentioned that BT engineers have a key-fob with cut-outs to check cable size. Does anyone know where I can get hold of such a thing? Or are there any wholesalers who sell such a device?

make your own. bit of aluminium sheet. drill holes to match cables.

Yes, I resorted to cutting a few lengths of different cable, cutting them back and cable-tying them together. Staring up at a high and crowded CU and trying to figure if it's 4mm/6mm/etc can be a pig sometimes.
