Good evening,

Trying to get my head around cable sizing so need some help, so I've based my scenario on a workshop at my place of work, there is a 6 way board going up but obviously at the minute it is empty so how would you be able to come up with Ib?

Find out what type and size of circuits that are being installed, apply the diversity calcs and bingo say 2 RFCs 2 Radials 4 Lighting and a couple of dedicated machines.

The circuits being installed are 3 x 32a ring mains and 2 x 10a lighting circuits. In the event of not knowing what circuits were being installed what would you do?

I would find out what is going to be installed, without that information you cannot know what size circuit is required or what DB is required.

Ok thanks. Right so I have calculated a diversity of 200. What do I do with that now? By totalling the load a 100a main switch is suitable.
