I have just been viewing the other forums out of boredom, and was surprised by how many Installers cable tie the different conductors together when connecting up the circuits.

Personally I don't like it, but that's my opinion as an individual, not sure if there are any regulations, recommendations regarding this, and wondered what your thoughts on this subject are.

Snap!!

They all get snipped off the first time an electrician needs to trace a cable out anyway!! lol!!

If there are many cables such that getting the cover on is a challenge, and / or I want to make sure the cables are clear of the cover screws, I may use one or two loose ties for this purpose, can be snipped easily and replaced before the cover had to go back on.

I swore i never would, but some older lads talked me in to doing so...just the odd 150mm Ty-vek...at weekends,like...then it was weekdays,300mm black double lockers...bag fulls...i was zip-tying on my own...i ordered bags full from wholesalers,ebay...anywhere...pretty soon the fridge was empty...bills piling up...friends stop visiting...and finally...i was found in my cellar...one round me neck, the other round, well,i had hit rock bottom...

That's when ZA took me in,and gradually,the journey back,began...

My names' PEG...and i'm a zipaholic :conehead:
