Hi All,

I'm planning to install a 300mm cable tray underneath a false floor for a 95mm SWA supply cable.

The issue is the tiles underneath the false flooring that the tray needs to be fixed down to are all asbestos. I know there are specialist companies who will drill holes into asbestos tiles on your behalf but the price is excessive. I did originally consider gluing down the uni strut that the cable tray will sit on, however the supply cable will only be required for 2 years max and the tray will need to be removed again.

Has anyone encountered this issue before and if so what did you fix the tray to the floor with? Or was an alternative installation method for the cable used?

What are the false floor supports made of just wondering how you will get a length of tray under the false floor structure

There's existing tray systems running in all directions under the floor, so its been suggested to keep it the same. However I guess it could be ran in flexible ducting if left with no other option?

The tray may eventually have other electrical circuits running with it so redundancy was required.

The false floor supports are normal pedestals (25cm) but all glued down as they are permanent.

Why run the SWA IN DUCTING?

Why not just run the SWA on the floor?

So can you not clamp some strut between the pedestals to mount the tray on

Just use lengths of strut as sleepers, if tray is a must, and don't fix them.
