Wondering what everyone’s take on this would be, cables coming out the ceiling inside a cupboard clipped down the door facing then along the skirting and into Consumer Unit, I know this is acceptable but would you guys be fitting a mini trunking if you were Upgrading the consumer unit or would you leave these cables as is?

if they're on show, i'd fit mini trunk or find a different route, maybe chase in. inside a cupboard with no likelyhood of damage surface clipped is fine.

The door face or the door frame?

As long as it's the right cable, clipped correctly, easily visible and unlikely to be damaged, no problem. Your decision how safe it is, you're the one on site.

It’s like on the inside of the door facing. It’s T+E so the right type of cable, a would say it’s fine yeah was just wondering what other people’s take on that was

Pardon my ignorance, but what is door facing? Is it the same as architrave? Have never heard the term before

If it's tight in a cupboard, sometimes trying to get trunking to look good can end up worse than well clipped cable..

Assuming the door isn't closing onto the cable or anything, it sounds compliant - just a question of whether it looks nice or not. If you're upgrading the consumer unit I'd have no problem leaving it, though also nothing wrong with offering to trunk it if the client doesn't like the aesthetics...

Though that then makes you responsible for that cable of course, in which case fire rated clips may be necessary to do it to current standards...
