I have just started out with my own company and a spoke with a client today he asked me a few questions and one of those were do i supply my own cad drawings. As far as i was aware whilist working for a company the drawings were supplied by the client. I know that cad is computer aided design but as a electrical contractor hwo does cad affect me.

I all comments welcome.

Thanks

Many large M & E contractor companies supply as fitted CAD drawings up on completion of the contract that is what he may be hinting at.

Some clients will provide existing drawings for you modify to keep their records upto date. If its a big job the drawings will have been done by the designers. Some small jobs though clients have asked for drawings to be done. I use Autocad Lt.....Autocad electrical is extremely expensive, but a very powerful tool.
