Anyone recommended for on-site or while you wait calibration in Birmingham? I need it doing next week, so I can't wait for the drop ins that the wholesalers do sometimes.

Wotcha aer kid!

Can't remember their prices off hand - will try and dig an invoice out over the weekend. I only found them by accident - dropped my MFT in to Eddies for calibration a few years back and the cert came back from Quasertronics. Have gone direct ever since. I think, once your kit is on their system, the calibration is a bit cheaper the following years.

Prices from last invoice (all + VAT):

Megger MFT1552 - ÂŁ40
AVO300 multimeter - ÂŁ29
Metrel clamp meter - ÂŁ26

However, I was originally quoted ÂŁ51 for the MFT. Invoiced price came in lower since it was already on their system from when Eddies had sent it to them.

I dont like the idea of these `on site` callibration type services....
any instrument should first be left in a tempreture and climate controlled room to normalise for 24 hours before being put on the rig..
how the hell do you manage that on site?...stick it in the canteen fridge for a bit...or sit it next to the calor fire for a while?

Then the calibration wouldn't count for much as the tester's accuracy could only be verified at that temperature. Above or below that temperature and the readings would need to be adjusted accordingly, which isn't going to happen.
