Can a teacher sign your ECS Card photo?

Hi, I'm in the process of applying for my first ECS card but I am self employed so I am just wondering if I can get a friend who is a teacher to sign my 'photo to verify it is me as I don't know any judges, union officials, MP's or police and I can't afford to take time off to make an appointment with one either, especially not for a solicitor!

It says on the guidance the 'photo can be signed by:

A Unite the Union official;

An authorised representative of a company you have been employed by in the last 3 years;

An officer of your local JobCentre Plus

A community representative e.g. MP, Solicitor or Judge

I would say yes. I just called into the local police station and got the PC on the front desk to sign mine.

a teacher should be fine. also a priest or vicar is acceptable.

Your Doctor would be a good one to do it also

or vet, even. all they want is a respected member of the community to vouch that it's really you.

Yes, it's usually just someone 'of reputable standing'. A policeman, lawyer, doctor, professionally qualified engineer, teacher, VAT registered business owner, pub landlord, or anything similar.
GPs don't like it when you make an appointment with them just to sign a photo.

In fact I seem to remember for the ECS card anyone can do it.

all my teacher ever wrote was "could do better", " more effort needed", and a lot of crossing out in red ink. that's banned in schools now as it might give pupils inferiority complexes. FFS.

If a teacher marks something wrong with an X, these days, it wouldn't surprise me if a case was taken out against him/her for sexual harrassment.

Ah!! ............ Maybe that explains how I have one.
