Hi there,

I doing a bathroom and having a false ceiling with 240v downlights spread over room.

The floor area is 10 sq m with a 2.4 high ceiling with a bath, double basin and walkin shower 1000x1000mm

I am completely waterproofing the entire area and need to choose a fan that will be ceiling mounted.

I have been looking at one with a light and would preferably like a chrome finish but the most important thing to me is to have a fan that will clear the room.

Now I was looking at vent axia stuff but cant find one with a chrome finish - what other good brands are there?

I am tempted to go for a manrose showerlite with rate of 85 that comes in chrome with a light but worried that it might be too cheap and not do the job.

Anyone recommend a fan that would do the job well, what extraction rates I should be looking at?- basically, what would you put in your house? a chrome finish or/and a light would be a bonus but not essential.

Thanks

the manrose in-line fans with 12v light are good enough for most applications. the downside is you need access above ceiling for maintenance.

The only thing I can say is that a cheap one will rattle and whine and drive you mad so be careful what you choose mate. Oh and if in doubt, consult a suitably qualified electrician:)

Thasnks for replys,

Prob is the 2 sparks I have asked didnt seem too definative on the subject. If the manrose one will be ok then i am happy with that but would be distraught if it was rattling and shaking around.

Anyone got experience with these regarding noise level.

thanks

The small inline duct fans ain`t worth a light especially if they`re pushing through a long flexible ducting, I tend to use something like a Vortice or Vent axia inline fan which are 6 or 8 inch fans drawing through a 4 inch ducting, these work every time, as long as you can mount it above somewhere.
The little ones only meet building regs, they don`t do much else !!
You can buy a timed Vortice from denmans for about ÂŁ60.00
