Hi,

My bro has electrical company in Scotland and considering this fact, I am willing to undertake necessary courses and become an electrician too. I am learning a lot already from him and the more I help him, the more I think this is the best career for me in the future.

My Q is, do you think it is possible to look through the British standards requirements book, run some tests and prepare myself to successfuly sit an exam without going for any course?

it is possible to study BS7671 and then pass the 2382, but that is not a core qualification. to become qualified requires a lot more than the 17th ed. open book . search the forum for "qualifications"and read a few threads.

well this aint it fella.

the 2382's easy enough to pass - if you know how to reference bs7671. but the point is, you should have the knowledge to understand what's written in the reg's - this requires years of tutoring.

our college gave us the opportunity to do the 17th edition only after we'd finished level 3 technical cert'.

start with a search for c&g 2365 to level3.
Thanks! Now my knowledge is complete. Will call collage and ask about funding for 2365 but regarding my age(24) I will try to find some1 who can help me doing 2357 as Im not getting any younger these days;/
