capping and plaster

hello

standard capping that you nail over cable can you nail to the surface of the bare brick or do you still need to chop in as it only stick out 10mm would it not get covered by render ect

I know it a basic question but we dont realy do any flush at work

It's usually OK to fix it straight to the wall without chasing, but don't quote me on that - best to check with the plasterer or builder.

depends on what the finish of the wall is, if they are going to dot and dab and plasterboard then fix straight to wall for sure, i`ve always fixed it straight to the wall whatever the finish, as if you were going to chase then why not chase in deep enough and use oval conduit?

There is only one definitive amswer for this and thats check with the spread, they all have a different opinion

or check the construction drawings ( if they are available )
