Hi Chaps.

Right, Been to look at a Building at a garage that will be turned into a car Sales Room

Not a huge building and 6-7 cars will be housed in it!

what type of lighting shall i fit to give the customer MAX coverage and make his cars look nice and shiny!

loads of spotlights and buy him a tin of polish

Are there any large car salerooms near to you to get some inspiration. Depending on the quality of the cars they may just want a batenholder, anything brighter may show up imperfections.

he wants to see the cars, not fall over them

Ford GT40 is 40" tall at the highest point. easy fall over the hood

should be in front of the showroom, hiding the rovers and reliants

Colour rendering and lighting levels are important in car showrooms. The lighting directly over the cars should be of high intensity, whilst areas around the cars should be at a lower level thereby drawing you to the car. A nice clean white light such as a metal halide is good above the cars, as it shows up the colours more vivdly, other areas you could get away with almost anything that gives a decent level but shouldn't take the eye away from the cars.

oh i also forgot to mention that i am changing a wylex 4 way box that when hey showed me i nearly wet my self..!! its got no front cover and all the busbar and cables are exposed!!!

:)

those old parts and crap are probably worth more than his new cars

lol... there is currently a half of a 206 parked up in the corner!!

im looking at Surface mounted fittings with Cat 2 Louvre

and after years of getting by with changing ballasts and tubes in lights etc i never stopped to think about HF lights and the benifits!!

Yeah surface fittings would be good but a few selected low bay hallides would be nicer

only got 3 meters to play with in terms of roof height!! cant have too much heat coming down fromthe halides!

The 4 x 36w modular fittings with cat2 louvres sound like a good option! Lamp selection will be sumthing to think about too like.

What about Track Lighting?? Gives them the option to position the lighting where they want it, more or less.

Just my thoughts.

Cheers.

got to keep cost down! its a second hand show room and he twisted at the joiners price of 1300 for replacing roof joists!!! haha! wait till he sees my quote!

3m isnt a lot is it? I think its gotta be florries then
