the drivers side window stopped working today on my land rover freelander (dont ever get one) so looked in all the obvious places swapped relays about checked the fuse etc so decided it must be the regulator motor so stripped it down only thing is im a bit unsure about what to test to check it ive checked it with my steinels and it bells between the terminals out does this mean the motors goosed i think it does but wouldnt mind it confirming with someone who has half a clue about car sparking, i dont get it myself although im sure it wouldnt be too difficult if i put my head to it my heads a bit full at the mo with all the regs changes and that any more info my head may blow up :)

I would test the resistance between the terminals on the motor u think is knackered and do the same on the passenger side that is working this should give you an indication if its goosed or not

put a live feed direct to the motor, and have you checked you have a feed , just use 12v test lamp at the connection point , and the switches are crap on them aswell.
