Been asked to install oene for a neighbour as he has an old fireplace in the kitchen that was capped off but is going to be used now. Red somewhere that you ain't meant to install these in kitchens but I have one in mine?

Carbon Monoxide Detectors should not be installed in the following areas :

outside the building.

in or below a cupboard.

in a damp or humid area.

directly above a sink or cooker.

next to a door or window, or anywhere that would be affected by draughts.

where the air flow to the detector would be obstructed by curtains or furniture.

where dirt or dust could collect and block the sensor, and stop it working.

in an area where the temperature could drop below –10C or rise to above 40C.

where it could be easily knocked or damaged

i have one in the lounge and one in the bedroom.scares the life out of you when it goes off though. but thats what it`s there for
