HI,

Im looking at card payment devices and wondering if you have found they are any use in the trade? i can see the benefit of being able to take payment there and then from a customer without ever having to goto the bank.
Has anyone else tried or does use a mobile card payment device? If so did you find it beneficial to the business?

offer paypal as well but add it to bill. there is a payleven one that a lot of people seem to use.

I would gear towards paypal because a lot of people already trust it

There is no doubt that mobile card payment devices are useful to take money instantly from the customer and save you chasing them for payment. But it will mean you need to be diligent with your paperwork and if you use a database you'll have to manually reconcile it. Flobot by Fresh Milk Software might be a tool you want to investigate.

Looked at it a while back when payleven came out in ScrewFix. At the time there was WorldPayZinc as well. Just need to watch how much they charge and account for it correctly to keep the VAT man happy ... Full amount to the sales ledger/VAT then charge diff to banking costs. Didn't use one as most people are happy to pay online, would mean that they could pay by credit card as well then, but they could always register with PayPall to do that.
