Hi guys,

Just a quicky. Does the part p reg still apply in an old folks home? Ie. Work in bathrooms, kithchens, new circuits are all notifyable? I'm guessing it does but just want to make sure.

Also roughly how much do the dno charge for putting in a double pole ISO switch after the meter and before the cu in a house and would this have to be done if I'm going to do a cu change for elesca assesment. I normally just pull the main fuse out but they may not like that.

Cheers

If the customer requests it in my experience they don't charge - you may have to wait a few weeks though.

I think part P only covers domestic premises a care home comes under commercial IMO your best bet would be your scam provider they are thee to advise as well as take your money

So if I did a cu change form my assesment would they not be bothered if I had taken the main fuse out to do the job.

And I will be doing some part tome maintenance work in a care home and just wanted to know were I stood with regards to part p.

Cheers lads

1. scheme providers won't be bothered that you have pulled the fuse which had no seal on it anyway ( he he ) but that you had followed safe isolation procedure.2. maintenance work in a care home would not be subject to part pee, possibly if you were doing more major works would.

Every so called 'care home' that I've ever come across is run as a money making business - so in my humble opinion would be commercial - not part of scam scheme. I would however fill in EIC as normal to cover yourself!

well from what I've read on some gov sites and niceic if the whole care home has just one meter, then it is not classed as a dwelling and therefore does not fall under part p. But yeah will defo do an eic or mewc for any electrical stuff I do.

Cheers for the info lads

Have done lots of work in care homes that would have been notifiable under part P had they been domestic properties.
As already said by others not notifiable because they are run as commercial premises.
