Career Advice Please

Hi, I am 33 years old and have been running a family business for the past 5 years. Previously to that I worked for Orange for 5 years doing Electrical Installations etc in Data Centres. In that time I also got HNC in Electrical Installation/Design and Bulding Services, 17th Edition and 2391. Is this suffice to say i am an electrician or do i need to go and complete City&Guilds 2330 part 2 and 3 as obviously my electrical installations have been limited to Data Centres.

Also anybody know how to get into Electrical Design at my age. A lot of the companies seem to take Graduates on. I really enjoy the design side of it but no sure how to progress.

cant comment on your electrician credentials but as for designing, why not upgrade your HNC to HND (6units) and choose design modules like CAD/CAM, 3D modelling etc. a lot of companies advertising for designers ask for a graduate OR HND with relevant experience. might have to take a pay drop though.
