Morning! Would someone please mind checking the big brown book for 1.5mm flat sheathed cable, ref method B, CCC? Page 456 from memory. Only have the blue book in the van, which lists refs A and C but not B.

Voltage drop is ok, as is Zs.

Thanks! :)

Surely clipped direct is in all regs books ? clipped direct is the most common one most sparks use when doing calcs
Yes, ref C, clipped direct, is in the book and alwsys has been.

Asking about ref B, which is enclosed, where conduit is not in insulation.

Historically, they only listed A, C, 100-103. In the brown book, they started listing B as well

Thanks @tims22 much appreciated :)

The existing cable that I assumed was 2.5mm T&E when I quoted for the job turned out to be 1.5mm 3C&E, with a core unused. Protected by a B16. I had a feeling it would be close.

Lots of sparks seem to turn their nose up to 1.5 on a 16a, but in reality its perfectly fine more often than not
It’s just that they are used to using it with 6 or 10A breakers for lighting
when you do it all the time, it becomes the norm and anything outside of the norm is assumed to be bad.
