I think,because of the vast range of flexibles,the manufacturer of the specific cable,would be the place to start. Fixed cables are fewer in type and conform to standards requiring different restrictions. The fact that cables for hand held machines,for example,are subject to a greater variance of external influences,affects their appropriate CCC. Some super flexible cables i have used in the past,have had a far lower rating,by the manufacturer,than the CSA would have suggested,eg;Medical equipment. This,is probably to prevent extra "electrical stress" being placed on a cable that may be subject to lots of other stresses.Or,ignore that,and if it melts...use a bigger one:bow:
