Morning all,,

On a job at the moment where the customer can get cctv cable from his mate for nothing,,as there is a sky connection in all four bedrooms ,,
He tells me his mate said cctv cable will be ok for sky aswell....anyone know if this is the case??

Thanks Kev

That doesn't sound like good advice to me, You may get a picture yes, but not meant for sky, I always use something like CT100 for sky, and RG6 for standard freeview UHF signal

As Magic-sid said you will get a picture, but it will not be as good as if it were CT100, PF100, Belden1694 the list goes on.

The picture you have may well be okay.

Some of us are working our butts of today and can't be bothered to fill the whole thread up on the differences of 50 and 75ohm signals and the VSWR, just take our word for it.

Why bother asking for ADVISE then argue about it You have been Advised that the picture wont be good quality and if the client is anything like my pro in law he will expect a perfect picture in every room and YOU will get the blame even tho he supplied the keechy cable
