as above can u clip cctv cables direct outside i was thinking of doiing this on a small 2 camera system to keep cost down on conduit etc, the connections will be in a ip rated box though ,anyone done this ps never installed one but iv set it up and cant believe how easy it is to operate

I used 16mm PVC conduit on my installation, not sure you have 16mm in the UK mind, it's about the same size as the old 1/2'' conduit that was taken out of service years ago. But i believe that security alarm installations still use it in part??

not enough used imo e54.ive seen intruder systems fully piped in 20mm galv and ive seen many many clipped to wall, guess which one gives the least problems...but its all down to cost, the same as cctv/fire etc

It's used too much in Cyprus!! They use it a lot for new build lighting circuits etc, (and even socket circuits in places) when 20mm would have been a far better choice!! ...lol!!

any conduit would do!!!! too much surface clipped here now on everything, get back to wiring in conduit in houses imo, seems the old methods were the best..

In Cyprus, it's really the Only way you CAN wire a house, as they are 99% concrete framed block/brick infill with concrete floors and ceilings... UK is so much easier to add a socket or light. In Cyprus you need to think hard and cover all possibilities when placing these points ''Before'' the installation begins, as after ...well you can guess the problems involved!!! ..lol!!!

That was a bit of a brain teaser when doing the layout for my house there. especially in the kitchen and utility room. Not to mention placement of speakers for my HC system. Even so, I still missed a couple of areas, where i could of really done with a socket or two!! ..lol!!
