Hi guys any advice appreciated
have been asked to change a CCTV monitor as the old one has deceased, can i just change the monitor to a new tft cctv screen as i have been told that all cameras would need reprogramming if the monitor is changed. The existing monitor had 1 BNC cable to it from a DVR sited below and a power supply???

Someone who doesn't know what they're talking about.

I have no idea at all how changing a monitor would cause all cameras to have to be re-programmed. It isn't possible.

I'd love to know who told you that!

You can change the monitor any time you want, without affecting anything.

Any TFT monitor with a BNC input will do the job. 17" monitors with BNC are widely available and relatively cheap - just make sure you choose one with BNC inputs rather than just VGA.

agree with Bill. the cameras all connect to the DVD controller. this then connects to the monitor. whoever told you the cameras would need reprogramming has his head up his a**e. like reprogramming your car's ECU when you fit new tyres!
