Hi.

Have any of you any feedback on which cameras are best used outside with a couple of sensor floodlights in use?
Also have you any info on whether cameras disguised as alarm sensors are any use?

Cam Spec depends upon your requirements.

If you want a cam with a floodlight, put it right underneath or next to the security lights PIR (usually immediately below the spotlight).. when the light turns on, it will illuminate the area and blind anyone looking so they won't even see the camera.

If you want professional, HD (High Definition) with Pan, Tilt, Zoom capabilities then its not going to be so easy to disguise them.

Im used to Pelco cameras running over IP networking, very expensive but can get cheap ones of ebay where engineers have taken the odd one home :D

Thanks guys
I have been using iviewcameras like you mentioned Liberator and they are quite reasonably priced although I put up the camera you mentioned but as it is a infra red cam it is very hard to pick out a face at night, also whenever the sensor floodlight comes on it makes it even harder to see.

these are excellent

wouldnt bother with those pir cams, poor picture and its obvious its a cam,buy a covert/pcb cam and put it in something like a box of cornflakes in you need to disguise it

Thanks alarm man

Would these work best without any light or with a sensor light. How much are they and can they be added onto an original plug and play system?
