Dear All,

Two of the bulbs of my ceiling lamps had burned out. These bulbs were ''IBL 13W/830 TC-TE''. I tried to find same bulb but could not find it and bought ''Osram Dulux 13W/830 T/E Plus GX24q-1''. As soon as I tried this bulb one of my lamp fused off and no bulb is working in it. I tried this bulb in other lamp and it used to work for few minutes and go off but now has completely stopped working and no other bulb is working in it either. Kindly advice if my lamps need repair and if I should change and try to get TC-TE bulbs. The sticker on the lamp mentions to use '' 10 - 13W TC-DE/ TC-TE GX24q-1 bulbs.

I have attached photos of lamp and bulbs. Kindly advice.

Could well be the high frequency electronic ballasts which have failed, personally I'd consider replacing the fittings with some decent quality LED units, a bit of expenditure but more reliable and energy efficient.

Hi Dan,

Thanks for the reply. Can you suggest me some lamps that will fit the same size of slot which are more energy efficient and not very costly. Also please let me know if its not to complicated and will I be able to fit this myself. Also please let me know if my present lamps can be repaired at all.

Regards,
Prakash
