Hi there, Im just about to change the fitting on my lights changing from a normal pendant to some 4 bar spotlights. Before i do this I just want to clarify what im doing is okay, I dont have much room for wires to work with from the 3 wires coming from the ceiling.

So basically I have put the 3 brown wires together Into a yellow crimp. I then have put the two blue wires Into a crimp and the switched live wire into a seperate crimp, the earth wires are also into a crimp. Is it okay now to use some wire from T&E to connect into the other ends of the crimps to terminate the light? I am aware i can use wago connectors or terminal blocks but have been told that crimps are the best connection you can get.

use wagos.

Terminating a single 1mm² or 1.5mm² into a yellow crimp isn't going to be "the best connection you can get". As Tel says, use Wagos. It will be a better and easier job.

Wagos everytime, using a larger crimp to put 3 seperate conductors in is not the way to go.
