Hi I'm just wondeing if I'm right about a ceiling rose and switch wiring. Does it depend on the wiring of the switch to how the ceiling rose is wired or vis versa.

So if for example. The power goes to the switch first from the board. You would have live to common out of l1 to the live in the ceiling rose.
The neutral in a connector block in the switch and up to the neutral in the ceiling rose.
The light cables then would be neutral to n and live to live. Leaving the loop free.

If the light is wired first from the board the live would go to the loop the neutral to n. from the ceiling rose loop to common and neutral from the live to l1 becoming the switch live

So the loop is there to be used if you have lots of cables and need to use it. Is this right? Thanks for any info.

you mean black or blue, not neutral. that conductor would never be a neutral. remember to sleeve it red or brown, whichever colour scheme is used.

Thanks stef and in that case the wiring would be as I described. Live into the loop. From the ceiling rose take the neutral ffrom love to l1 becoming switch live. Loop to common.

Yes telecteix that's what i mean. Sorry habit of saying that.

Matt, you can wire through the switch in the way (I think) you described.
Line and neutral straight to switch, then line out of switch, with neutral in a connector behind switch, both to rose.
