Ceiling Rose/Pendant Wire Drop to bulb holder...

Hi,

I need to replace some ceiling rose/pendants in my property as they've become brittle with age.

I've bought some new ones but they are all the standard length of cable.

If I was to wire in a replacement length is there any standard/requirements to look for... i.e. high temperature (such as Heat Resistant Flexible Cable 3092Y 2-Core 0.75mm² x 10m White | Flexible Cables | Screwfix.com)

or would cable such as this also be suitable:
Round Flexible Cable 2182Y 2-Core 0.75mm² x 10m White | Flexible Cables | Screwfix.com

or

Toolstation > Electrical > Cable > 2 Core Round Flex (2182Y)

don't matter. any heat damage from the lamps generally affects the ends at the lamp holder terminations long before the sheath. as it's your own house, though, go for the HR.

Yep HR if it's your house worth paying the extra it wont break the bank

If you are fitting/using low energy lamps, then heat damage not such a big issue but as already said HR = all good

Was the wiring put in at the same time as these roses that are getting brittle? If so, be aware 'old school' wiring can get brittle and start to perish too.

Possibly but it's just heat damage at the end rather than age perishing... Already given an electrician decent work replacing the fuse board a few years ago when all wiring was checked
