Hi everyone,
I would be very grateful for some advice please. A few years back I fitted a wooden ceiling 3 light spotlight and now want to replace it with a metal 3 light spotlight. However, the new spotlight has a chocolate block with live, neutral and earth wires on one side, whereas the wires in the ceiling rose comprise an available live and neutral wire but the earth wires are positioned in a metal block on the ceiling rose (i.e. there is no earth wire available to put into the spotlight chocolate block). The earth wires comprise of one wire insulated in an earth cable and 2 earth wires insulated in another cable - both sets are placed in a metal chocolate block in the ceiling rose. Should I leave them in the ceiling rose or does one need to be taken out of the ceiling rose and put into the spotlight? Or, since the earth wires are positioned in the ceiling rose, can the spotlights be fitted without an earth wire being attached to the chocolate block in the spotlight chocolate block?
Thanks for your help
