Hi,

Need some advice,

I've got a Vaillant combi boiler with a programmable timer (Danfoss) and a seperate stat in the hallway (Danfoss).

The radiators all get hot to whatever temperature the boiler is set at - even when the programmable timer is off and the stat set to zero... I'm sure this is not correct and it means that i'm controlling the rads manually by the boiler - not the timer or stat.

Please help with wiring.

Rob.

Hi ya Rob. Who fitted your boiler? Get them back in to wire your stat. Please don't attempt doing it yourself, electricity and gas don't go well together if not installed correctly. Please get an electrician in, it may be one of a few things that's gone wrong. Good luck.

Sounds like maybe the factory fitted link has been left in place even though external controls are fitted.....

I'll go for that too!

Get someone in Rob, shouldn't take too long.

Rob I agree with Lenny. There will be a little wire link in the electrical connections where the programmer/roomstat connect to the boiler. This link is supposed to be removed when the programmer/roomstat is connected, if it's left in it will bypass them and will always call for heat until the temp set at the boiler is reached. Check the link has been removed (turn power off to boiler first :) ) or get whoever wired it up to come back and check their work! If it's not the link then the external controls have been connected wrong and for some reason your boiler is receiving a constant call for heat, either way it's almost certainly the fault of whoever connected in the programmer/roomstat and they shouldn't charge you for coming back to put it right! Assuming it was installed 'professionally'
Hope you get it sorted
Gazz
