in a small shop. a 20a breaker was feeding one dbl socket outlet. on one side of that socket i spured to feed a new lighting circuit. on the other side i extended the circuit to 4 more points. what cert do i need to issue. for the lights will my zs be up to the fuse in the spur or to the breaker in the cu. tanx.

4 more points and lighting as well.? have you checked your loading on the 20A?

true, but you don't want it tripping all the time. as long as your loading is under 20A, fine. you have a radial with 5 points . just thinking of future use, heaters etc. in the winter. is it not too much of a job to create a small 32A ring?

with your FCU fuse in, firstly you do a dead test R1+R2 with no power on. at the furthest point on your sockets and the furthest point on the lighting. record the highest. then, if those readings are OK. power on and Zs at same points. again record highest. MWC is correct as you have not created a new cct.

tanx mate. the only snag is the lighting is track lighting. the lamps just click into any position. alli got is a line neu in the tracks
