Hi
Im doing some work after a pir was done on a rented house, just checkin the best way to certify it to say the work has been done that was found on the pir

Do i fill in a eic for each DB and test the circuits ive worked on? What about things like damaged sockets, what do i write on the cert for that?

Cheers

Depends on the work carried out if its major works requiring an EIC then thats the one , you should issue minor works certs for every job requiring a cert you do , but depends on the scale of the work required , you could always do a satifactory PIR report as this would also cover the testing required

A couple of circuits need mcbs changing to rcbos and im changing a couple of sockets and lights and changing choc blocks to jb's on the downlights and things, putting an isolator in for the fan and bits like that. Could i minor works these? And eic for the rcbos?

What about if i was going to move a circuit from the non rcd aide of a board onto the rcd side? Another eic?

Cheers

Your PIR should have had a schedule of test results and inspection attached.

The remedial work mainly after a PIR is normally repairs and can be covered with a MEIWC for each circuit. So if you replaced a light switch and a socket outlet you would use 2 seperate MEIWC. Though technically you don't need to issue paperwork such as a MEIWC for accessory chages, but doing this and referencing the PIR you will show you have completed the repair.

Obviously if you had a circuit that say had a high Zs and would not have disconnected the protection device in time, and so you fitted an RCD say to comply, then you must complete the certification again referencing the PIR.

As that is not installaing a new circuit but just altering an existing circuit I would issue a MEIWC.

If you're doing mutiple rectification works involving changing device types and characteristics it will probably be easier and more appropriate to issue an Electrical Installation Certificate to cover all works.
