Evening all. I have a question in the installation certificate. I am testing some sites around the country and on the certificate it needs the primary supply main fuse size and Ka type etc. All the sites these are sealed by supply authority so I have written 'sealed' on the certificate. Now I have been told that this is wrong and to put what the sticker says in the fuse holder. But surely any fuse could be fitted.

So guys and girls who is correct ??

many thanks all

Theoretically since you are not permitted to break the seal and actually check the fuse you should put not verified or LIM.
However if the head does have a label on it specifying the intended fuse size and type I tend to put "labelled as...."

Richard is spot on, never put it down as though you have removed fuse, I usually just put it down as a Limit, but Richard's idea is a good call.

Work on worse case scenario, and quote BS 88-3 100A fuse, 16.5kA breaking capacity, so your tails etc should be to this spec. If you are doing testing only on new installations, then this information should be available from whoever specced the supply. You can't LIM on an EIC, if you can't complete all the paperwork, then it is not complaint. If you can't find out from whoever specced it up, then contact the supplier, but they will only quotes what i have said anyway.

Cheers............Howard

Limitations are specifically for periodic inspections, not for use with EICs or MEWICs.
if you are unable to verify the fuse details by examination, you should contact the supplier, and use the information they provide.

Don't worry about the 4A fuse, it's a Keston boiler, it'll be dead by the time you've found one and it's been delivered.
