hi just a quick one pretty new to the game and was wondering what tickets you need for signing jobs off? thanks in advance

What type of jobs are you signing off? are they domestic, commercial, industrial.

If they are domestic and you want to sign the jobs off yourself then you must be with one of the self certification schemes or you can have the local authority sign them off.

If, however they are not domestic you do not need to belong to any of the schemes as mention by Brightspark, pretty well all jobs you carry out needs to have certification, whether it is EIC, PIR or MWC.
What you do need is the qualifications to carry out these certificates

I would say the ticket needed is competence
You can become competent through training and experience, this would also be the route to becoming a member of a scheme that requires that competence
Nationally recognised certificates such as city and guilds etc are the usual requirements

Yes, I would agree with that, they say you should have qualifications or be compedent but it does always look better when you have that paperwork to back yourself up

hi thanks for all that it would be basically minor works and maybe the odd eic certificate the work the work i would be doing is kitchen installs, im currently working for a boy and that is all we usually do but now have the chance to go self employed in the same kind off work, im i time served spark been out my time for 4 years but done my time in industrial and have only been in the domestic game for seven months, so think ill go and make some phone calls tomorrow about getting registered with one of the schemes that you guys have recommened thanks again
