Afternoon Chaps,

Need a bit of advice regarding what certification to fill out for emergency lighting repairs following a periodic inspection of the emergency lighting.

Using Amtech software and the forms have the ability on the periodic have the ability to show lights that have failed and require remedial action but nothing to indicate that the repairs have been carried out.

An emergency lighting installation certificate for replacing two battery sets in two light fittings seems a little excessive?

Just wondered what you guy had done in the past regards recording repairs made to a system.

Cheers

Neil

Emergency lighting systems should have a log book kept to show such things as routine checks , failures etc. If there is not one on site you should start one .

the "log book" may be incorperated into the fire alarm log book or similar weekly health and safety check lists

as for wanting to "certificate" the repairs I wouldnt see anything wrong with a Minor works cert used for each repair carried out and repair noted as BB says the log book should contain this information but I know some clients want paper trails for the previous paper trail to trail on the end of the paper trail just to keep the papaer trail monitor happy in his little paper trail world where he could be incinerated should a couple of his paper trails trail to close to eachother and cause friction
