after changing a board and doing a eic, do you put in the note that its just a change of board. what i mean by this is i wont of check things like conductor id,will be upgrading tails/bonds,
i will do a i.r befor to check that no probs!
cheers guys!!

I think we are talking about the schedule of inspection part of the form. a 'X' would indicate a fail which can only be done on a PIR if it's non applicable then it's a N/A.

But even then on the original post identification of conductor should be ticked, as when the board is reconnected your ensuring that the LINE, NEUTRAL and CPC are indentified by colours.

I agree with Malcolm, an EIC is for the work you have done and by putting an X in a schedule of inspections box you are infact failing your own work.

After changing a board, in the "extent of the installation covered by this certificate" box, you simply put - upgrading of consumer unit only.

Hi All
If you change a consumer unit and one of the ring circuits are found to be faulty lets say the CPC's aint continuous then shouldn't you put it right rather than note it in the comments

you should rectify any fault/potential safety issues found, but will the customer pay for the extra work. i alweays explain to the customer when i quote, that gthe quote is for CU replacement, and if any faults are found during the job, their rectification will entail further costs. i try and put this gently so as not to scare them off having the job done. IR test, and checking for borrowed neutrals at time of quoting is a must, IMO
