Hi guys,

I have a SMA sunnyboy 3000 (not TL), and it is currently on Italian spec. On the TL version there is usually two rotary switches which you can set the country to UK by turning the dials to position "5" and Position "8"

This one is a little different. Any idea on how to do this? Inverter does not have Bluetooth as standard.

As far as I am aware (I have not had to do it myself), you will need to use a Bluetooth piggy back and a Bluetooth enabled laptop and then change it manually in Sunny Explorer.

I think you have 2 toggle switches inside, these need to be configured to the correct setting to change language.

I have piggyback, blue tooth enabled lap top and Sunny explorer if your local, you may also require a grid code from SMA, this you need to apply for in writing.???

I couldnot set one up for G83 recently and had to return it as it was a grey import!

GOOD LUCK!

If the inverter has no Bluetooth module, you will need the rs485 comms link

And whatever you do, it will require grid code from sma...

Fill out the app form pronto. Where are you based?

It would not be strictly legal, but you could at least get the inverter working with Italian settings if you need to commission it. Settings are below:

IT – Italy
Parameter Maximum clearance time/s maximum trip setting
Over voltage 0,1 230 V + 20 %
Under voltage 0,2 230 V - 20 %
Over frequency 0,1 51 Hz
Under frequency 0,1 49 Hz
LoM 0,1

They look like they would work, albeit a high over-voltage setting. Looks like Italian voltages have massive excursions.
