I maintain conveyor systems and we are always changing out motors, and I have been wondering if before we put ' back into service ' we should be taking some test readings and recording them . I have asked our managers and they reckon that because we are not adding to or changing the circuit that there is no need.

Any thoughts?

Your managers are right no tests on the circuits are required if you haven't altered them.
