Bravo

This is really a question for the NICEIC but since they are closed for the day I thought I'd try my luck here. As the NICEIC Qualified Supervisor for a small maintenance firm I can sign off my install work for domestic and light commercial (connected to domestic). I have just had a job offer with another firm doing installs for a landscaping company but need to know:

1) Can my competent person status be transferred to the new company and;
2) What do I require to sign off my work that is not connected to a residential property, IE commercial outdoor landscaping?

As I have only worked in domestic property this is unfamiliar terrain for me.

Cheers

Not to sure so I may get shot down but I think if you are going to a firm that does commercial/industrial and is a fully approved contractor rather than a domestic installer as a NICEIC QS you may have to have you 2391 inspection and testing certificate

i think it would be best if u call them tomoro.

Im guessing that NICEIC would probably want u to do another assessment under ur new company ur goin to join.

There is no requirements to sign of commercial work providing your competent and qualified to a certain degree(not sure wat degree). I think being NICEIC or ECA would be down to the clients preferences to do with insurances and other stuff.

Ive worked on commercial properties before and just used a generic cert. wasnt with any scheme and had no probs.

Hope this helps.

Spoke to NICEIC and found out that the Competent Person status is not transferable. As far as commercial work goes it is not notifiable but they could not say what the requirements are to sign off commercial work. I find this a bit strange; I have not done the 2391 yet but I'm guessing this would be the formal requirement. Perhaps one of you bright sparks that have had a lot of commercial experience could shed some light of this .
Thanks for the replies
