I am changing an old MEM 2 way light switch for A MK Logic one, have have a wiring question. The MEM switch has 3 wires into it, red, blue and yellow, with Red going to Common at the top of the switch, the blue wire goes to the bottom left, and yellow bottom right.
on the MK logic switch, there is 1 and two way at the top, and Common bottom right. How do I wire this?

Same as the old one, red into common and blue and yellow into the other terminals doesn't matter which way round.

Yes the blue and yellow into 1 (1 way) and 2. Doesn't matter which way round you put them, blue or yellow into 1 and the other into 2.

Yes, the (1 way) is just noted to allow the switch to be used as a normal 1 way switch, if when wired up the switch positions do not correspond i.e. one switch on and the other off, but the lights are off then switch the wires around in 1 & 2.

Does when I do it. I have this thing that when all switch rockers in a house are up, there are no lamps lit.
With a simple 2w switch, that means lamp is off if both rockers are up, off when both are down, and on when one is up and the other down.

A mate of mine (not an electrician) insists all his switches are the same, one day that all changed he was convinced someone had changed the way one the 2 way switches was wired just to annoy him, having lived in the house for about 10 years he hadn't realised that there was an intermediate switch on that light and someone had used it

In that case, the rocker on the intermediate switch must also have been down.
A practical advantage (back in the days of incandescents, at least) is that you can be sure the lamp is unpowered when you replace a blown one.

Same here. All switches up = off. With 'conventional' 2-way that means L1 at one 2-way must connect to L2 at the other and vice versa, or if you always want to put the same colour strapper in L1 and L2 then one switch must be upside down. With 'conversion' 2-way L1 to L1 and L2 to L2 so both switches right way up and strappers in the same terminals both ends.

I've successfully ignored the 2 way switch positions in this room for the last 3 years - it was annoying but had been pushed to the back of my mind.

Since reading this thread earlier today, it has been driving me nuts again - might even be at the stage where something must be done about it.

Edit: Just remembered the landing light switches are wired in the same manner. Damn you thread.

Furthermore, as the left hand switch will currently not do anything, I'd try the loose brown in here:
