So what is happening to the NVQ after the end of the year? I've heard its changing, several times, but not exactly what to? I've read on the forum it was supposed to change July 2012, yet places are still offering NVQ registration. Tradeskills4u is claiming that you won't be able to register for their current NVQ only course after the end of 2013.
I'm currently doing my level 3 2365, and need to register for NVQ as soon as I can (as I am currently working), this can this only be done after the level 3 right?
If for example, I don't register before the end of the year, will there still be an NVQ only course to apply to? And what will be different?
Very confused, as you can probably tell! Somebody set me straight? I'm worried I'm going to get shafted by C&G!

Thanks,
Chris

Everyone gets shafted, 2391 is now double the price.

I know they're doing something with the NVQ but haven't payed much attention to what it is.

Also heard you will need an NVQ to get part p registered which is a big step in the right direction.

Again I could be completely wrong, thus proving my reply pointless! I need sleep

Hi mate you can still do your NVQ LV3 now but it should have ended 31st dec 2012 but they mus thave extended again

XS training froum sponser deliver the 2356 NVQ LV3
otherwise once it ends you will have to then do part of the 2357 the NVQ part and possibly the AM2

Xs charge ÂŁ550 + vat for it there NVQ link is on the right hand side of your page

the 2330 technical cert and the 2356 NVQ was due to be replaced by the 2357
but the 2357 wasnt ready and take up was slow it was mainly then for apprentices 16-18 yr old so any adult was badsically cut out the loop unless they could get an employer to give them a apprenticeship
but they must have realised they wold be losing large amounts of cash
and have now brought the 2365 technical cert which is similar to 2330 and the 2356 is still jsut about hanging on

Its cheaper to enrol for this now and then you will have until about 2015 or something to complete

Contact them and they will explain better dont bother asking C&G as they have no idea

they told me 2330 and NVQ was ending 31 march 2011 so i enrolled for NVQ on 23rd march 2011 and got a lv3 2330 31st march the very last day
to find out the morning after vai email from C&G that it had indeed been extended
I knew it was because of forum memebers but C&G kept telling me otherwise lol

anyway best do it now mate before it really does end as guaranteed it will cost you a lot more later

or contact your local colleg and ask them do they still do 2356 or alternative but Xs are the cheapest i ahve found and helped Guide me through mine

good luck

Hey thanks for the reply mate, its definitely cleared a few things up. So can I register for the NVQ before the end of my level 3? And so when I do the registration will last 5 years? So if I change or lose a job, can it be transfered as long as its within 5 years? Or do you have to remain in a job until its finished? Im just thinking if I register now, I can start the work next year....
Thanks!

It was supposed to end firstly 31st march 2011 then was extended

then they were ending 31st december 2012

But Xs training are still offering the 2356 NVQ LVÂŁ as they have some licenses left for it but it wont last for ever

check the final date of the 2356 which is wehn you ave to have it completed by which i believe is 2015 as it stands

Yes register now and complete when you want best contacting Xs direct it will be either David Or Stuart they are extremely helpful and are the cheapest for this qual

You can complaete as little or as much as you like when you like as this is a online portfolio
basicallyl you do the job gather all evidence eg risk assessments pics of you carrying out one and completed copy of it
erecting safety barriers and signs etc
marking measuring cutting containment and wiring systems

Inspection adn testing completing certs , manufacturers info user info etc pics of you discussing customers requiremnts and giving them copies of technical and functional info

basically everyhting you do on a job froms tart to finish and completion and handover with pics of you showing custmoer , client how to use
pics with other contractors , customers , supervisor as these are relevent people and this will cover certian bits of your NVQ
jsut get pics of everything keep copies of manufactuers info or go online to get copies , as you will have to scan and upload to attach to your nvq
it is sow prcess and seems your not getting anywhere but after one copleted set of units ( A diary ) you may have a lot more completed than you thought

you can use domestic , commercial , industrial, agricutlural LV ELV Multiphase etc etc basically anything to do with electrics the more varied the better

even installing a alarm system is ELV
using T/E singles SWa , MICC etc etc you need 3 of these

there is like 3 of this or 2 of that and once you ahve covered say 3 wiring systems then you ahve covered that part of your NVQ and can be covered by 1 job

it may take you 2 jobs or 3 to complete or more

so basically start to gather evidence and get regsirtered and before you know it it will be done

Good luck

slowly bbut surely you will build site diaries which in turn will help you achieve 100% in all 8 units
the system is called onefile system Google it

But it will be limited acess as yo need user nama and password to access

as i said best speaking to Xs training and they will be able to advise you better
