Just looking at purchasing a new sds, which is mainly 60% used for chasing/chopping out, and was wondering if any one out there has used or does use,a chasing machine with the 2 diamond cutting wheels..... would like to know peoples thoughts... i.e are they any good?do they create much dust? ,are they worth it? or any other recommendations to ease this task?

Always had a makita chaser, about ÂŁ360 I think and the best hoover Ive ever used was an hilti one with a vibration filter they cost about ÂŁ1000 I think.

I did not own the hilti one, so I bought a makita one, I think the kit cost me about ÂŁ550 roughly.

I have a Metabo chaser and a festool CTL mini dust extractor, fantastic bit of kit. Although the bags aren't very big, but well worth the money. If your going to get a chaser dont use it without a vacuum, unless you don't want to be able to see for 20mins:D

hi

i have a metabo chaser, excellent bit of kit but as said previously dont bother without a hoover..... my hoover is a bosch and seems to do the job.

regards
gary

i got one from makro for a tenner and its fab. i know you get what you pay for but hey if it does one rewire for a tenner i am happy

They are good, only when used with a decent vaccuum. I use a henry a the moment, but thinking if getting something with a higher airflow rate

ÂŁ20 from aldi with a henry costÂŁ2 car boot. bit dusty. do soft plaster by hand.

I had a makitia one like people are saying the hoover is a must and the only other thing is do not wait for the bag to get full as the first thing you know is a dusty room lol The hilti ones are great well worth the money !!

Hilti expensive, heavy, bit of an awkward thing to lug around on small rewires if you include their vac, best suited to large jobs with plenty of room. Saying all that I still wouldn't have got any other.

Had a go on one of these the other week, the plumber had one and was using it to cut a nice 50mm deep chase in brick... no problems there (and had good old henry on the end sucking it all up)

Only a cheapy, about ÂŁ140. Gonna treat myself when things pick up a bit.
