Hi all
Been looking at a job today which if I get it will involve a fair bit of chasing Funds wont stretch to a proper chaser as yet so have been looking at a 4" grinder Would this be a suitable purchase to get going ? Already have sds drill (no chisel action) so could drill holes in between & for sockets etc If the grinder isn't any good any other suggestions ?

twin blade chase cutter from lidl or aldi, if you find a branch with one in stock - ÂŁ20

a grinder will indeed make alot of mess. i have a twin grinder and that even makes mess when connected to hoover.
if its an empty room with no occupants will be ok though i do reccomend a mask and goggles...:)

I'm on Hayling Island (sometimes). If you need the tools, PM me and we can make a plan. I don't use them day to day so I'd rather they were used profitably than sat sitting stood there.

pay you to buy an SDS with rotary stop. go for corded, not battery.for 2nd hand try google mr.toolman . he also sells on ebay

Use a grinder and say to the customer 'expect a hell of a lot of dust'.
Get an old SDS with rotary stop (if you already have an SDS you could get one which has a bust clutch on the cheap - as you'll only be using it for kangoing it wont matter)
If you really can't afford it, use a grinder/chaser and scutch.

you can get a cheap one to get you going for about ÂŁ30 at Aldi, Screwfix etc, they are DIY but you will get more than your ÂŁ30 worth. I had one for 2 years till the chuck exploded, and i gave it some real clog, digging out in brick day in day out.
