Hello All

Recently my company brought a reel of 4mm 3core SWA LSF/XPLE. As we were running it off from a store room though a corridor then on to tray suspended from the ceiling into a another plant room we noticed a kink in the cable that look like a big elbow the cable wasnt damaged in anyway as we were running it. So we had to cut back and start again. When we came to glad the cable off it was impossible the steel wire was just twisting everywhere. We eventually made it off the terminated it but what a nightmare. When i looked at the invoice for a 100m reel of 4mm 3 core they paid around £55.00 what a load of ****

Any thoughts on whats the best cable brand out there i normally go to batt cables in erith there not bad.

James

Buy cheap, buy twice...

Had a customer supply me with some 2.5 T+E recently (I got a roll cheap at the car boot sale mate), the insulation felt like plasticine, wouldn't surprise me if it hadn't come from that region... Probably had the 'training use only' lettering rubbed off. Needless to say I used some decent stuff as it was only a couple of meters to move a socket in a garage.

The Turkish stuff is bobbins.

Is it Kablo Cables are similar, all BASEC approved though.

Saw some of their T&E that looked like shotgun satellite cable in its cross section:shades_smile:

The T&E that looks like shotgun cable I think is like that to make it easier to strip. Only used it a couple of times, wasn't sure of the brand though.

Therein lies the problem. I see no merit in further circular debate, so will bow out of this discussion.
