cheap light bulbs???

Hi, New to the forum only a apprentice , so here goes...please dont laugh...

Neighbour has called around asing for me to take a look at why his lightbulbs keep blowing??? I told him cheap lamps, but still wants me to take a look. Any ideas on what I should look for ?

Overvoltage, dimming halogens etc

check for tesco ,morrisons, asda own branded lamps then tell him to put his hand in his pocket and buy some branded lamps GE etc and see if it makes a differance!
